Jim Davidson (born Cameron James Davidson)
is an actor and comedian. Despite his long-term success,
Davidson's present image is that of an unsophisticated
and politically incorrect stand-up who appeals to the
lowest common denominator in his audience.
Davidson is also regarded by some as a bigot. For
example, in October 2003 he was criticised by disability
rights groups for cancelling a show after objecting
to the presence of wheelchair users among his audience.
Davidson recently emigrated to Dubai in the United Arab
Emirates, but threatened to return to the UK if the
Conservatives won the 2005 election, which was eventually
won by Tony Blair's Labour Party.
In between filming 'Up The Elephant and Round The
Castle' Davidson use to ride an Indian elephant around
South East London in order to promote the sitcom.
As he rode the elephant he used to bellow to the public
via a loud hailer using a West Indian accent, the only
accent he 'could' imitate. |
